Retired Deputy Commissioner of Police, Barrister, and distinguished Security Consultant, DCP Nibo Komonibo (Rtd.) is a highly respected professional whose career reflects decades of excellence in law enforcement, legal practice, and corporate security management. Renowned for his discipline, integrity, and strategic leadership, he has built a legacy defined by service, professionalism, and impactful leadership.

DCP Nibo Komonibo began his educational journey at St. Stephen’s School, Odi, Bayelsa State, before proceeding to Rapid Results College, South West London, where he obtained his GCE Ordinary Level qualification. Driven by a passion for justice and governance, he earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B Hons) from Rivers State University of Science and Technology and later attended the Nigerian Law School, Lagos, where he qualified as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He further strengthened his expertise with a Master’s degree in International Relations and Strategic Studies (MIRSS) from Lagos State University.

His distinguished career in the Nigeria Police Force spanned through 35 years, from 1968 to 2003, during which he served in several strategic and operational capacities. He worked with the Mobile Police Force (MOPOL 19) in Port Harcourt, the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Alagbon, and the Force Legal Department, where his legal background became a valuable asset to policing and investigations.

As a Divisional Police Officer (DPO), he successfully commanded divisions in Itire, Aguda, and Onikan, Lagos State, earning recognition for effective administration and operational excellence. His leadership qualities later saw him rise to senior positions including Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, Lagos State Command, Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration, Sokoto State Command, and Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, Lagos State Command.

Following his retirement, DCP Nibo Komonibo transitioned into corporate security consultancy, where he continues to provide expert advisory services to leading organizations including Oando PLC, AXXELA (Gaslink), OVH Energy Marketing, Fastline Security Ltd, Protection Plus Services Ltd, and Be On Yellow Security Consultants Ltd.

A member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), DCP Nibo Komonibo remains widely admired for his professionalism, experience, and enduring contribution to security, justice, and national development.
